Andre Sobota & Felipe Novaes – Prescience (Alex O’Rion Remix)
The latest release from Clubsonica Records welcomes Andre Sobota back to the label for a fresh collaboration alongside remixes from Alex O’Rion and Hot TuneiK. The Brazilian artist has found a comfortable home on the Colombian imprint with this being his third appearance. June of 2018 marked the São Paulo resident’s label debut with the release of his well received ‘Missing Line’ single, while later that year yielded a stunning remix of ‘Blue Patience’ by label boss Juan Pablo Torrez. Now returning for his second single, Andre collaborates with fellow countryman Felipe Novaes on the highly anticipated ‘Prescience’. Having both supplied their own interpretations it’s Andre’s Mix which gets the release underway. Anchored by a punchy yet warm groove, its rhythmic core comes up quickly, with layers of finely tuned percussion, buzzing lines and vibrant tones uniting in a compelling canopy of sound. Robust and hook heavy, it’s a metallic arp which elevates the narrative, flowing through intense but tasteful modulation, before building to a sonic sizzle during the main break and spearheading an emotive final act. Meanwhile Felipe’s version sits in lovely contrast with a warmer more nostalgic approach. Mounds of nicely carved bass power the foundation, while electric lines and astral effects add a playful, effervescent charm. Spanning close to two minutes in length the main break splits moods between the surreal and emotive, perfectly foreshadowing a driving finale.
Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation of ‘Prescience’ is Alex O’Rion’. As one of the Netherlands most highly regarded and sought-after artists, the Nijkerk resident has found a home on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, where he has released three artist EPs since making his debut in January of 2018. Also, a highly regarded DJ, Alex has programmed music for some of the world’s most iconic clubs, namely Ministry Of Sound and Fabric. Now following his chart-topping EP for Cid Inc’s Replug Records, Alex returns to Clubsonica with a superb rendition of ‘Prescience’. Staying true to the main theme from the original the Dutch artist builds a smooth narrative across the first act. The main break proves impactful with wispy atmospherics carrying the quirky theme, before a stripped-down section builds tension towards an elegant yet powerful crescendo.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Scar Tissue [Official Music Video]
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside
In the book Scar Tissue, Anthony Kiedis explained that this song was about his drug addiction.
The “slide” is how far he would get back into his drug addiction, since he would stop doing drugs for a time, then get right back into it.
The phrase “I don’t believe it’s bad” was a reference to how he didn’t regret doing drugs.
Selena Gomez – Lose You To Love Me
“This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”

Equador – Bones of Man (Gareth Emery Remix)
Are we just a no
until we start again?
We travel all alone,
this is not the end.
Follow that road, follow that road, baby.
Everything you know,
carry on in us.
It’s somewhere in my dreams
is everything I lost.
Follow that road, follow that road, baby.
You’ve gotta let it go.
All alone.
It’s buried in the sand,
the bones of man.
You gotta let it go.

Sasha | Tomorrowland Belgium 2018
In the U.K. in the 90s we had Renaissance with Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Ian Ossia, Anthony Pappa etc. They were the greatest nights. Deep slow progressive sets building and building up for hours. We would travel the country over when they went on Tour. Sasha is the only DJ still going from the 90s that I would still travel for today. Well, him and Carl Cox. The sets would build slowly then a massive drop and bring you down again afterwards before another build resulting in a massive crescendo towards the end of the night. Very few can do this layering effect now, music would ride like a roller coaster as the drugs took hold until the lights came on. Many DJs play predefined tracks or maybe even pre mixed. These were the days of 12 inch records, the DJ quickly looking through a massive box to find a record that was required for that stage of the night… very few modern DJs have the patience to create this journey now it’s all hit after hit after hit…. you need some filler to create the journey. We didn’t have all these fancy lights and lasers, a dark room with sweat falling off the ceiling, no mobile phones, you’d have to find someone wearing a watch to know the time or wait for the first glimpse of sun to come through the sky lights. Great times.
